If you’re going to take one recommendation from this list and like fiction, make it ‘The Dead Romantics.’ Reading it while sipping a glass of wine was the kind of thing that truly made my weekend better. Cheers.
The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston
A ghostwriter for a romance novelist that grew up in a funeral parlor and can see and talk to ghosts (the latest being her new, charming editor)? Yes! This book took me by surprise—it was so inventive, witty, lovely, and hopeful. And in case you’re like me and can’t read a romance book unless there’s a happy ending: rest assured, there is.
Flower Hair Clips
These flower hair clips come in a pack of 8, which makes them a little more than $2 a piece. When I was in Cape Cod, MA a couple of weeks ago I saw a shop trying to sell these exact clips for $10 each. So, really, the pack is a steal. They’re fun, hold all of my hair back, and are rather bulky-yet-charming.
RevitaBrow Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner Serum
If you’re wanting thicker, fuller eyebrows, I cannot recommend this eyebrow serum enough. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it couldn’t be easier: apply it once a day and in a month or two you will start to notice a big difference. I’ve recommend it to a bunch of family members and have seen it work wonders on people with very sparse eyebrows. The only con is that you do have to keep using it/buying it (although I’ve taken a few months off in between tubes).
Tojiro Slicer
I honestly forgot how much I truly loved this knife until I recently re-tested it for work. It’s so nimble, light, and sharp—it can slice through crusty and soft loaves with such ease it’s almost silly. You should absolutely read the full Serious Eats review of it.
