A couple of weeks ago, I did an Instagram video for work and a handful of my coworkers commented on how glowy and hydrated my skin looked. As someone with very dry skin who's struggled with eczema for many years, this is the highest compliment that can be said of my skincare regimen.
This week’s newsletter is dedicated to the products I employ to achieve very glowy skin—all of which I’ve been using for at least three months (most of them more).
Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray
For toning down redness, this Tower 28 spray is step one in my morning routine (I don’t wash my face in the morning, per my dermatologist’s recommendation). It also helps keep the eczema flare-ups around my eyes at bay.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Dark Spot Serum
After a bout of hormonal acne in the spring that left two dark spots on either cheek, I picked this up. It’s faded these spots and evened out my skin tone, as well as providing the first layer of dewiness. For a more affordable, Vitamin C alternative, Maelove The Glow Maker is fantastic.
Rhode Barrier Restore Cream
Is this moisturizer ever in stock? No, but it’s worth signing up for the waitlist and buying it the minute it drops. I haven’t found a moisturizer that provides a more hydrating glow and the little tube has (surprisingly) lasted me a few months. I have seen some folks say the moisturizer from Skinfix is a good sub for the Rhode cream, but it’s more expensive (though readily available).
EltaMD Tinted Sunscreen
For a glowly, almost skin tint level of coverage, the EltaMD sunscreen is hard to beat. It looks beautiful and feels lightweight. I like its pump applicator, too. I’ve used other sunscreens (like the one from Innisfree) over the Rhode cream and while the result isn’t as glowy, it’s still nice.
Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment
Another thing that’s absolutely worth signing up for the waitlist for: the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment. It provides a shine (suitable for this newsletter topic), but over the period of a few months it’s made my lips so ridiculously soft.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I don’t think this is 100 percent necessary, but I do see a noticeable, hydrated difference capping off my morning skincare with this Beauty Elixir. I also use it as a setting spray on no-makeup makeup days. If my skin’s feeling extra dry, I’ll hit it with this grape water face mist.
