I Just Really Like It: Volume 10
A facial spray that's actually worth buying, seriously good sparkling water, and more.
These past couple of weeks have been tough. My grandma passed away and while I feel fine one moment, the next minute I’ll find myself talking to a friendly face and nearly crying mid-Zoom meeting. Or looking at a rock she hand painted (like a ladybug, in case you were wondering) and bursting out into tears. Which is all to say: I skipped a couple of newsletters. I haven’t felt like liking or loving much.
But, we’re doing a bit better today…at least enough to recommend a handful of (truly great) things. And if you’re like me and bake when you’re sad, I recommend these blueberry muffins.
Waterloo Grape Sparkling Water
Grape soda was my favorite growing up, and this seltzer’s just ever-so-slightly grape-flavored and I love it. I buy mine at Target.
KISS Bare But Better TruNude Fake Nails
I feel like a lot of fake nails are thick and look rather plasticky. But not these. They are pretty natural-feeling and are easy to cut down and shape. I’ve tried two shades from the Bare But Better line and really can’t recommend them enough. They lasted for about five days before one popped off and needed re-gluing. I bought mine at Ulta, but the one shown above is available on Amazon.
Tower 28 Beauty SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray
After a few breakouts, I started to use this consistently as a toner morning and night and it’s made a huge difference. And when I recently had some contact dermatitis on my collarbone, this calmed it down immensely. Here’s an article that explains how it works. (It does smell a little like pool water, which took me a bit to get used to.)
Sunbeam Heating Pad
Whenever I have a back or stomach ache, this heating pad is *it.* It gets hot but never too hot to be uncomfortable. It’s easy to toggle between heat settings and you can choose to keep it on continually or auto-shut off after a few hours. It heats up incredibly fast, too.
